It was causing my rpm’s to be very erratic when idling, noticeable loss of power, fuel economy was going down .
Ihave been offered a 2014 Ford Focus SE (Hatchback) for $7,000. It's been driven ~100,000 miles (mostly highways), and has new battery, clutch, and tires. The oil change has been synthetic only at every 8-9k miles. My only concern is maintenance costs, because the car feels and looks brand new!

I do think this subreddit understates the widespread issues with the 2013 and 2014 model's transmissions. I saw a failure rate published somewhere of 70ish percent of 2013 transmissions. I can't imagine 2014 was better.
CloudsTasteGeometric • 3 yr. ago. Ford's are pretty reliable, depending on what model you get. Automatic Focuses and Fiestas suffer from catastrophic transmission failure. Manual ones are fine. The Escape, Fusion, Explorer, and other popular models are pretty dependable. Your friend likely had a lemon.
Thereliability is shit. And Ford can't keep the parts in stock. Fuck Ford. They sold me a god damned storage closet. I honestly would be willing to pay to keep
