I think the biggest non-cheating backstab I've ever seen was 1800 damage, so it's entirely possible they killed you in oneshot without cheating. one shot back stab IS possible, and there are builds specificly to do this as back stabbing in this game is the lowest common denominator. The difference is that in street fighter, matchmaking applies skill to the algorithm. If I were to play the average player I would dismantle them in 2-3 hits the same as using backstabs in dark souls. The average dark souls player always goes for the same left strafe circle backstab and no matter how many times you punish them they never learn. Some real tips: 1) Don't backstab-fish, insted punish their fishing. 2) Don't try to run away, invaders (usually) manage their stamina better and know the shortest path to you. You cannot out-run them, unless you roll spam with Dark Wood Grain Ring. 3) Don't lock-off and back roll or just spam rolls away from them, it leaves your back vulnerable. As we've seen in the test, backstabs against other players have an attempt window similar to Dark Souls 2. However, a "missed" backstab has the same animation as the inital backstab without actually backstabbing.
